I found the graphic novel of The Last Unicorn on Ibooks today. u___u There is a threshold of sadness that I can carry, but wow, I forgot how depressing everything is. ;m; Especially for Lir.
I wish I had a Lir to roleplay with, just to face that moment of, “I dreamt of you and you did not say a word. You would not speak to me.” What could Amalthea even say?

In many Christian text the horn of a unicorn was said to be a powerful antidote to poison and if you dipped it’s tip into water is was cleansed. They believed the creatures sacrifice {despite the truth that it was the murder of one of the worlds most innocent creatures} to be akin to the death of Christ on the cross. It was this belief that led Unicorns being hunted to extinction.

The Gods were pained by the great loss the worlds suffered with each senseless death and sought to protect the few that remained with the aid of their Queen,Amalthea. Loki took a special liking to the woman and pledged to stay by her side and protect her at all costs. But  Amalthea knew that what grew between them could not be for  it was only through her death her people would survive.

So she shed her human Aspect and left the safety of Asgard under the cover of moonlight, it’s fate, she told herself. Her life for those of her kin was more valuable than a lover’s embrace.

Loki however, did not share these sentiments and was left broken and grieving when the sun arose and the news of her sacrifice reached Asgard.
