 Nor the castle or walk brought Lír peace. How could a place
 so steeped in sorrow and regret inspire feelings of calm and
 tranquility? Even the sea offered Lír no consolation anymore.
 The only thing that could ease his mind was the farthest
 from his reach. Yet she stood mere feet in front of him.

              ❝I am not disturbing you, I hope?❞

The waves collided in a spray of white foam against the slate of cold rocks below, roaring as if hooves were stampeding. Violet eyes that had once seen through all could do no more than penetrate what the sea wished her to know. Fleeting, as if she stood upon that shore with little traces of whence she traveled, the current swirling around her ankles, beckoning her to enter the water. It pulled at her, even from this high balcony to which to always gazed from. 

 The lady withdrew gracefully from the sight, frustrated at the feeling it left her with. Mystic eyes moved to the prince who spoke, he was seemingly polite and for a moment her worries dimmed and she thought of him. 
“You are not.”

A tightening occurred within her throat as the maiden continued to hear the waves and could not help but to feel as if she had forgotten something truly.
“Lir, … then what is it that brings you peace when your thoughts cannot?”
